A community-based non-profit organisation advancing economic empowerment, gender equality, and protection for vulnerable populations across all 34 LGAs of Katsina State.
Established in 2007, FAHUZ Support for Vulnerable Groups (FAHUZ-SVG) is a community-based, non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing the economic empowerment and gender equality of vulnerable populations — women, girls, GBV survivors, widows, persons with disabilities, youth and children through integrated livelihood, protection and social inclusion programming across all 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
With over 1,000 registered members and beneficiaries, FAHUZ-SVG is deeply embedded in community systems and maintains trusted relationships with traditional institutions, religious leaders, financial service providers and development partners.
"FAHUZ-SVG — Trusted, Community-Rooted, and Results-Driven."
Resilient, inclusive communities where women, girls and other vulnerable groups have equitable access to economic empowerment, gender-responsive protection, and peacebuilding opportunities in Katsina State.
Deliver high-quality, community-driven interventions that advance economic empowerment and gender equality for vulnerable populations strengthening women's and youth's economic autonomy, protection and leadership as agents of change.
Economic empowerment and gender equality sit at the centre of FAHUZ-SVG’s work. We support vulnerable women, girls, widows, persons with disabilities and displaced persons to build sustainable livelihoods, access financial services, and exercise agency and leadership in their households and communities recognizing that economic autonomy and gender justice are inseparable from lasting peace and protection.
Operating in one of Nigeria’s most conflict-affected states, FAHUZ-SVG complements its economic empowerment and gender programming with structured peacebuilding interventions that address both immediate triggers and underlying drivers of violence.
As an active member of the Katsina State Women, Peace and Security network, FAHUZ-SVG recognizes women as indispensable agents of peace and recovery. Our WPS programming is aligned with UNSCR 1325 and Nigeria’s Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (NAP III, 2025–2030).
FAHUZ-SVG addresses climate and natural resource dimensions of conflict, tackling root causes of farmer-herder tensions and food insecurity among vulnerable households.
